About Roxbury Film Festival
The
Roxbury Film Festival is the largest festival in New England dedicated to screening
films by, for, and about people of color. Produced by ACT Roxbury and Color of
Film Collaborative, this five-day festival takes at partner venues throughout Boston’s
historic Roxbury neighborhood.
Producing Partners:
Arts,
Culture & Trade (ACT) Roxbury is the cultural economic
development program of Madison Park Development Corporation. We use the Roxbury
Arts Series as a magnet for attracting people to the historic Roxbury neighborhood
of Boston. These five annual programs allow us to promote and sustain the artistic
and cultural integrity of our beloved community. They include the Roxbury Open
Studios, Roxbury Performance Season, Roxbury Literary Annual, Roxbury Discussion
Series, and the Roxbury Film Festival. Most of the events and activities of the
Roxbury Arts Series take place at Roxbury Center for Arts, formerly known as Hibernian
Hall. For more information about ACT Roxbury, visit our website actroxbury.org.
The
Color of Film Collaborative (TCOF) provides support to theater, multi-media professionals,
filmmakers of color, and Greater Boston-area individuals that are striving to create diverse
images of people of color within their disciplines. Through support, exhibition, and funding,
TCOF aims to provide an environment for filmmakers, actors, performing artists, and others
with an interest in media to share and develop their ideas, visions, and works with their peers.
